How to Fix a Broken or Chipped Nail

It happens to the best of us! All that time spent doing your own mani at home or even worse, money spent in the nail salon just to have your nails chip within the next  couple of days. ::sigh:: Here’s how to fix it!

1. At the first sign of a break, clip or file your nail down to the broken point if possible. If it is a low tear, you can “patch” it with a few coats of polish, followed by a topcoat. If you don’t have polish with you, anchor the nail for the time being with a clear piece of Scotch Tape.

2. If your polish chips post manicure, gently buff out the nick, then fill in with a thin coat of the same color.

3. Because brittle nails tend to split more easily, applying a nourishing light oil daily will add flexibility and prevent breakage. If you want to opt out of doing your nails yourself, try getting a Shellac manicure at the salon. You won’t have to worry about chipping and your manicure will be perfect for two weeks!

Here are some products to use that will keep your mani fresh!

Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat
CND Solar Oil
Revlon Crazy Shine Nail Buffer
Sally Hansen Nail File
